IOMO ART GALLERY
2021
discipline: Visual Identity, EVENT IDENTITY
IOMO is a young art gallery located in Bucharest, Romania. As a local business, IOMO describes itself as an exquisite space where national and international visual artists to be exhibited and professionally bound. Their events invite the large public to consume contemporary art, to reflect on and to be part of todays artistic and social movements.
IOMO stands for: I – individual, first person; homo (lat.) – human; iom (ebr.) – (to)day. IOMO is each of us, the contemporary human. That's the reason IOMO keeps its neutral position expressed in the design system as black and white.
Deliverables: naming & positioning consulting, logo design, typography, color system, offline & online event communication.
The letter “O” as a symbol:

central and repetitive element, like a lens/ filter through which we look at art;
expression of one's mirroring into the artistic object and vice versa; mental and spiritual reflection;
connecting bridges between one's inner and outer reality.

Logo construction
Two different typefaces were combined in order to obtain a unique mark: the elegant old-style Flecha (by R-Typography) with the bold and experimental Parabole (by ECAL Typefaces). The outcome has a harmonious optical balance, it is a classic with a twist.
